Demolition of 3 acre Bureau Veritas Site
December 1, 2008 by Michael
MJ Finnigan Limited has recently secured one of their most extensive contracts to date. The works include the demolition of three large buildings on the former Bureau Veritas /AMTAC Laboratory industrial estate in Broadheath, Manchester.
Bureau Veritas Electrical dates back to the dawn of the electrical age with the formation of LCIE in 1888. Since then a number of additional acquisitions have helped position Bureau Veritas Electrical as a global leader of market access solutions delivering global market access locally.
The complex demolition on the 3 acre site is presenting many challenges to the company. Works commenced on 24.11.08 and are currently running on time and with no problems.
One of the major issues on site is the restrictive boundaries on three elevations. This has necessitated careful planning and protection measures along the Manchester Ship Canal where one of the industrial units runs immediately along the canal bank. There is also busy airport car parking business immediately next door and a busy sports playing field on the other site boundary.
The works are due to be completed before the Christmas Break.
