New Contract at Baker Petrolite

January 8, 2010 by Michael

MJ Finnigan has had a great start to the new year with news that we have secured a further contract for our blue chip client Baker Petrolite in Kirkby. We have been commissioned to carry out the demolition of the Pilot Plant on site following our recent successful completion of the Soaps Tower demolition which is now featured in our case studies section.

Baker Petrolite is a subsidiary of Baker Hughes, which is the worlds third largest oilfield services company. They provide the worlds oil and gas industry with products and services for drilling, formation evaluation, completion, production and reservoir consulting. This is the third contract we have undertaken on site and demonstrates our continued exemplary performance in health, safety, environment and delivery of complex demolition projects.

MJ Finnigan Limited is happy to report that our already impressive client list has been significantly added to with the news that we have secured a contract with TESCO.

We will act as principal contractors for the dismantling and demolition of a former Currys store and Blockbusters video at the live Tesco retail park in Dudley, Birmingham. The works are currently being carefully planned to take account of the live nature of the retail park and what will be an exceptionally busy period in the run up to Christmas. The adjacent TESCO store will remain open throughout our contract period. Works are due to start in the next few weeks. More news to follow…

SAFE Contractor certification status achieved

October 7, 2009 by Michael

MJ Finnigan Ltd is happy to announce that it has achieved SAFE Contractor certification status. SAFE Contractor is a programme which recognises very high standards of health and safety practice amongst UK contractors.

Our company’s application for SAFE Contractor status was driven by the need for a uniform standards across the business, and this coupled with our CHAS accreditation status mean we can demonstrate and reassure any potential clients that we operate at only the highest health and safety standards.

We anticipate that SAFE Contractor will enhance our ability to attract new contracts given the large number of blue chip clients that have registered with the scheme.

Darren Hughes, Operations Director of SAFE Contractor said “Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove they have sound health and safety policies”.

“More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way MJ Finnigan Ltd has. This firms high standards have set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the demolition sector”.

Contract Complete at Top Tier COMAH site, Baker Petrolite, Liverpool

July 27, 2009 by Michael

MJ Finnigan’s client base continues to expand with the completion of one of our most challenging contracts to date working within the confines of a top tier COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations) Site for Baker Petrolite in Knowsley Industrial Estate.

The project called for the dismantling and demolition of a number of large plant, vessels, overhead gantries, LPG Storage areas and Vent Tank areas. The on site production runs for 24 hours and 7 days a week so it was vital that our methods of work did not interrupt the plants operations.

MJ Finnigan is happy to report that the project was completed to the full satisfaction of the client and represents another significant step forward for our company by working for blue chip clients of this nature.
