Sponsorship Deal with Local Boxing Club

MJ Finnigan Ltd is happy to announce that they have secured a sponsorship deal with a successful local boxing club for the third successive year. The company is the main kit sponsor and has also assisted in putting on the clubs recent annual show held at the Irish Association Club in Chorlton on May 8th 2011.
St Johns ABC is located in Chorton Cum Hardy in Greater Manchester and has recently been awarded the Sport England’s clubmark which is awarded to clubs by the Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE) when the club is able to demonstrate that it meets the ABAE’s accreditation criteria as to boxing programme, child protection, sports equity, ethics and club management.
St Johns is also home to the British Schoolboy champion Bradley Rea who recently secured the national crown by being victorious at the Tri Nations tournament beating his Scottish and Welsh counterparts which is a wonderful achievement for Brad and for the club as a whole.
The club was opened three years ago by parish priest Father P McMahon who saw boxing as a way of engaging youngsters into positive activities.

Cooling Tower Demolition Complete

MJ Finnigan have recently completed the demolition of a large cooling tower on behalf of Wockhardt UK in Wrexham. Wockarhdt is a diverse pharmaceutical business created by the merger of CP Pharmaceuticals and the Wallis Laboratory. The company is a major manufacturer of healthcare products to the NHS and retail pharmacy sector.
The works included for the removal of significant quantities of asbestos materials, plastic and tanalised timber. The structure was dismantled due to the restrictive operation buildings, plant and pipe bridges to all elevations. Full details can be seen in our case study section.
The site chief engineer was very complementary upon completion of the works stating “I am extremely pleased with the professional manner the cooling tower has been deconstructed. It is quite comforting to have absolute confidence in your company and not have to micro - manage the project”.
Metrolink Extension Underway In Oldham

Following our successful completion of the demolitoin of Norbrook Youth Centre on behalf of Greater Manchester Transport Executive we are happy to report that the company is currently on site carrying out our second contract for the executive in Oldham Town centre.
The works include for the asbestos removal, demolition, and land remediation of the former Oldham Baptist Church site located in the heart of the town centre. The works are resticted due to the close proximity to the busy Union and King Streets and also a live college building adjacent to our works.
The project is a landmark for the area and represents a significant step forward in bringing the Metrolink and much need investment and jobs to the Oldham area.

The companies impressive safety record and expereice of working within some of the most challenging demolition environments around has recently been recognised by The Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents. The RoSPA organisation have granted us a prestigous award of our standards in occuptational safety and health.
The RoSPA award scheme is the longest running and most highly respected occuptation awards program in the UK. The organisation only recognises companies who operate comprehensive health and safety management systems and are able to demonstrate a high level of safety performance over a sustained period.
MJ Finnigan is also accredited to the SAFE Contractor and Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Schemes.
